How does it work?
Each Solar Power Provider UK installed solar car port is bespoke to your requirements, giving a base support frame for a solar PV array.

Solar PV panels are made up of wafers of silicon trapped between layers of glass, which is then coated in an anti-glare film. Sunlight hits the panels and starts a reaction by energising the electrons within the silicon solar cells. As they move and bump into one another they create a direct current (DC) of electricity. This power then passes through a solar inverter, transforming it to alternating current (AC). The AC solar power is then used instantaneously by your business. Any excess solar electricity is then exported back to the grid, alternatively any excess energy can be stored in a battery, which can then be used beyond daylight hours or be fed directly into an EV charge station.

Is planning permission required?
Yes, Planning permission is required for all solar car ports. Our design team will help with this application every step of the way.
Will I lose car parking spaces?
Our design team will tailor the system to your energy requirements and design a system that will cause little impact upon your existing car parking spaces.
Are there additional extras to consider?

Normally carports are reserved for the commercial sector. We find the best applications include garden centres, supermarkets, airports, farms, factories, hospitals, schools etc.

What is the possible energy yield?
Each Solar Power Provider UK installed solar car port is bespoke to your requirements. The maximum possible yield is dependant upon your system size, weather conditions and the orientation of the panels. These factors are determined by the overall space available on site.
